Parece que fue ayer cuando Sara era un bebé recién nacido y hoy ya la tengo sentada a la mesa! La verdad es que todavía no hemos utilizado estas sillas cubo para comer o trabajar, pero como no podía resistirme a enseñároslas hemos hecho un simulacro para poder hacer algunas fotos.
Tengo que decir que me ha sorprendido lo segura que se siente Sara sentada en esta silla siendo tan pequeña (aún no tiene 6 meses!), al ponerla con el asiento en la posición más baja el respaldo y los laterales quedan muy altos, de modo que si Sara se tambalea un poco siempre tiene un punto de apoyo para no caerse, y el asiento es tan bajito que casi le llegan los pies al suelo (en la última foto lo podéis ver mejor y es una monada). Así que si ahora se siente tan segura en esta silla, imagino que en unos meses podrá utilizarla ella solita o con muy poca ayuda.
Como habréis adivinado, lo que hace la función de mesa (o weaning table) es otra silla cubo más grande, que ahora mismo aún le sirve como silla a Alejandro con 4 años y medio y alrededor de 110 cm de estatura, así que os hacéis una idea del recorrido que pueden tener estas sillas. Cuando Sara sea muy grande para la silla pequeña, pasará a utilizar la silla grande y la pequeña posiblemente la utilizaremos como mesita auxiliar, para poner libros, como escalón... La verdad es que estas sillas me tienen enamorada por su versatilidad además de por lo bonitas que son!
Otros detalles que me gustan son las asas, que permiten coger las sillas muy fácilmente, y los cantos redondeados, que además de ser seguros para los niños suavizan un diseño en el que predominan las líneas rectas.
Además de las sillas cubo tenemos la torre de aprendizaje que se convierte en mesa, pero a eso le dedicaré otro post 😉

It seems like yesterday when Sara was a newborn and now there she is sitting at her weaning table! The truth is that we have not used these cube chairs for eating or working yet, but I could not wait to show them off, so we have done a simulation to take some photos.
I have to say that I'm surprised to see how secure Sara feels sitting in this chair at such a young age (not 6 months old yet!), with the seat in the lowest position the back and sides are very high, so if Sara falters a bit she always has support to keep her from falling, and the seat is so low that her feet almost touch the ground (in the last photo you can see it better, and it's seriously cute). So if she feels so safe now in this chair, I can imagine that in a few months she may use it by herself or with very little help.
As you may have guessed, what serves as a table is another cube chair, a larger version, which now still serves as chair for Alejandro at 4,5 yo and about 110 cm tall, so that gives you an idea of the long time of use for these chairs. When Sara outgrows the small chair, she will switch to the big chair and we will possibly use the small one as a small side table, to keep books, as a step... The truth is that I love these chairs for their versatility in addition to how beautiful they are!
Other things I like are the handles, which allow pick up the chairs very easily, and the rounded edges, which in addition to being safe for children, soften a design in which the straight lines predominate.
In addition to the cube chairs we have the learning tower that can also be used as a table, but I will keep that for another post 😉

Me ha encantado este material, natural, sencillo y con muchas posibilidades. He estado viendo la página, de donde son? he visto que hay con asas y sin ellas y en acabado barnizado y sin barnizar. Las que tenéis y salen en las imágenes son sin barnizar?, no resulta áspero al tacto?

Es una empresa española, de Almería concretamente. Como los muebles son hechos a mano y por encargo puedes elegir si quieres con o sin asas. Las que yo tengo tienen el acabado de cera de abejas, no resulta áspero, a mí me gusta el tacto de la madera 😉

I would like to buy the big and little chair who look amasing ! But i don’t know if I choose with varnish or no.. What did you choose ? Your advice ?
And other question, my daughter is now 11 months, do you thinck the little chair will be usefull or should I skip directly for the big one ? I don’t really realize the scale…

I have the chairs with varnish, I think without varnish the wood would probably get dirty quite soon with food 😉 And with the varnish is very easy to clean. I like that the varnish is not shiny, so it looks very natural, actually it’s hard to tell if the wood has varnish or not until you spill some water on it and see that it slips.
My daughter is 9 months now and she is using the small chair on the lower size, so I think she will still use the small chair for a long time. I would say the big chair is best for toddlers from 2 years old aproximately.

Mi bebé tiene 6 meses y medio pero estoy muy atenta a toda la filosofía Montessori para ir aplicándola desde ya, porque me interesa mucho y comparto esa línea educativa. Estas sillas me parecen geniales y una buena herramienta para él, que da muchas posibilidades de uso en un futuro. ¡Así que espero poder conseguirlas! ¡Gracias!
