A Alejandro le gusta mucho recoger flores en nuestros paseos de naturaleza o en cualquier otra ocasión en la que nos encontremos con un arbusto o unas flores; algunas de ellas las utilizamos para hacer sencillos arreglos florales, y otras las prensamos para utilizarlas después como decoración en manualidades.

Nuestra prensa es casera, nos la hizo mi padre con dos tablas de cortar y la utilizamos también para encuadernar (otra típica actividad Montessori que ya os comentaré en otro post). Sólo hay que poner las flores separadas unas de otras entre dos papeles de periódico o otro tipo de papel que sea un poco absorbente, cerrar la prensa y esperar! Nosotros normalmente abrimos la prensa una semana después para comprobar si hay que cambiar el papel y para ver cómo van secándose las flores. Para flores pequeñas como éstas con 2 o 3 semanas es suficiente.

Alejandro loves to pick flowers in our nature walks or any other time that we find a bush or flowers; sometimes we use them to make simple flower arrangements, and sometimes we press them for later use as decoration for crafts.

Our press is homemade, ​​my father made it for us with two cutting boards and we also use it for book binding (another typical Montessori activity about which I will discuss in another post). We just lay the flowers separated from each other between two pieces of newspaper or other absorbent paper, we close the press and wait! We normally open the press a week later to check if we need to change the paper and to see how the flowers are drying. For small flowers like these 2 or 3 weeks is enough.
